Mining & Energy
Equipment, consumables and spares into remote mine sites, and concentrates and minerals out to port: planned, cleared and delivered by one team.
Keeping remote mines supplied
A mine runs on a steady flow of cargo: haul trucks and crushers, spare parts that can't wait, fuel, reagents, explosives and everyday consumables, often hundreds of kilometres from the nearest port. CFA Logistics plans and runs that supply chain for mining operations in Tanzania and the region, from the gold mines of the Lake Zone to projects in the south, and moves minerals and concentrates back out for export.
What we handle for mines
- Capital equipment: import, clearing and heavy transport of mining fleet, processing plant and structures (see project cargo)
- Spares and urgent parts: air freight and express clearing when a breakdown stops production
- Consumables: grinding media, reagents and chemicals with the permits they need (GCLA for industrial chemicals)
- Explosives and dangerous goods: licensed handling, transport and storage (see explosives logistics)
- Mineral exports: export documentation and transport to Dar es Salaam port
- Site warehousing: stock held and released as the mine needs it (see warehousing)
Built for difficult routes
Mine sites are rarely on good roads. We survey routes before heavy moves, arrange abnormal-load permits and escorts, and plan around rainy-season conditions.
Working to the site's rules
Mining clients expect contractors to work to their HSE standards. We plan heavy and hazardous moves around each site's own rules: approved routes, delivery windows and offloading procedures.
