Renewable Energy

Wind turbine parts, solar panels, transformers and hydropower equipment for projects in Tanzania and Kenya, from port to site.

Moving the parts of a power plant

Renewable energy projects bring some of the most demanding cargo there is: turbine blades longer than a train carriage, nacelles and towers, transformers, and thousands of containers of solar panels and mounting structures. CFA Logistics plans these moves from the port to the site for wind, solar and hydropower projects in Tanzania and Kenya.

What we handle

  • Wind: blades, tower sections, nacelles and hubs, with specialised trailers, route surveys and escorts
  • Solar: panels, inverters, trackers and mounting structures, often high container volumes on a tight installation schedule
  • Hydropower and grid: turbines, generators, transformers and substation equipment
  • Batteries: lithium battery storage shipped as dangerous goods with the correct declarations

How we plan it

  1. Cargo list with every dimension and weight, matched to the installation sequence
  2. Route survey from Dar es Salaam, Tanga or Mombasa to the site, including bridges, bends and overhead lines
  3. Abnormal-load permits and escorts arranged before the vessel arrives
  4. Port discharge, clearing, including any project duty exemptions
  5. Delivery to site in the order the installation crew needs it, with laydown storage if the site isn't ready
